On Wednesdays I like to talk about changing the your world.
Today I’m going to tell you a little about Stephanie and her efforts to change the world.
Stephanie has created an online forum for the parents and caregivers of adults who have Down syndrome, called The Road We’ve Shared. The largest segment of the population with Down syndrome is, surprise surprise, adults. (Easy math, right?) And although every family’s situation is different and every individual with Down syndrome has different abilities and challenges, there are some things that a community can bring to the table.
A community brings compassion for each unique experience. A community brings perspective. A community provides support, ideas and resources. Sometimes a community takes a stand; sometimes it respects the different paths and motives. This community hopes to empower those involved.
Stephanie wants to change the world. That’s all. And today you can help.
Her most ambitious project for The Road yet is to take it to the streets! The NDSC (National Down Syndrome Congress Conference) is in Indianapolis this July. She has cut every corner possible (trust me, I’ve seen the spreadsheets) but making the trip to conference and introducing The Road to other families requires some help.
That’s where you come in!
You can help change the world too. Easy -> donate here.
Or buy a shirt here TODAY because this campaign ends in 2 days! ->
