Let’s sit like new friends over coffee and I’ll tell you about my son. He turns 26 today and he’s had a really big year. I don’t want to be a show-off, but…I am his mom and I am proud. Our sons were similar ages, just into adulthood really, so we were still at the point of taking full pride – and honestly full credit – for them living through school and coming into their own.

She shared her delight with her son’s achievements as an architect, having recently graduated from college with honors, and his beginning a prestigious, new big-deal-job. She beamed. Then stopped.
